Privacy Policy

The short version

freegpacalculator.io does not collect or sell your personal data. Every GPA calculation runs entirely in your browser. This site may display third-party advertisements; ad networks may use cookies to serve personalised ads. You can opt out at any time.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. We do not collect names, email addresses, user accounts, or any other personal information. There is no signup or login on this site.

Anonymous analytics (if used). We may use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics (such as aggregate page view counts) to understand which calculators are most used. These analytics do not identify individual visitors, do not set tracking cookies, and are not shared with advertising networks.

Contact form. If you use the contact form on our Contact page, your name, email address, and message are transmitted to our form-processing service (Formspree) and forwarded to us by email. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and do not share it with third parties.

Calculator data and localStorage

Several calculators on this site offer a "save and restore" feature. When you use it, your entries (grades, course names, credit hours, scale selections) are saved to your browser's localStorage — a standard browser API that stores key/value pairs on your device.

localStorage data:

• Stays entirely on your device
• Is never transmitted to our servers or any third party
• Is not accessible to other websites
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for freegpacalculator.io
• Will be cleared if you switch browsers, use a private/incognito window, or clear your browser cache

We do not read, access, or have any visibility into what is stored in your browser's localStorage.

Cookies

Our own cookies. freegpacalculator.io does not set any first-party tracking or analytics cookies. We use localStorage (described above) for saving calculator state, not cookies.

Third-party advertising cookies. This site participates in Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies (web beacons, pixel tags) to:

• Show you advertisements based on your prior visits to this site or other sites
• Measure the effectiveness of advertisements
• Limit the number of times you see a given ad

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads; it means the ads you see will be less relevant to your interests.

Third-party advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

For more information on how Google uses data collected via advertising, visit "How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps" . For information on Google's privacy practices generally, visit the Google Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services on this site:

• Google Fonts — typography served from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log the font request as a standard web server request. No calculator data is transmitted.
• Google AdSense — advertising. May set cookies for ad personalisation (see "Third-party advertising" above).
• Formspree — contact form processing. Receives form submissions (name, email, message) and forwards them to us. See Formspree's privacy policy.

EU users — GDPR

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or erase any personal data we hold about you. As noted above, we do not collect personal data through calculator use. If you submitted a contact form, you may request that we delete that message by emailing contact@freegpacalculator.io.

With respect to advertising: Google's GDPR compliance for advertising is documented at Google AdSense & GDPR. Users in the EU may see a consent banner before personalised ads are served, managed by Google's Funding Choices consent management platform.

Children's privacy

This site does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The calculators are reference tools for students and educators; no account creation or personal data submission is required to use any feature.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We do not collect email addresses, so we cannot notify users by email of changes.
